Working in Ashford, I was familiar with the Lakes but had
never made a visit to the site. After Neil Burt kindly publicised his find, the
two us headed off to add Ring Necked Duck to our Kent List. A relatively easy
find on the Everglades when doing the family holiday in Florida, the sun this
afternoon was determined to make this a challenge.
There was a smattering of
other birders all well spread but we did find the bird and shuffled around for
better views. The obligatory record shot was taken at some distance into the
sun.
