Here And There

11/12/12 - With news of Waxwings at the industrial estate at Hersden I thought I would head over there before the sun went behind the clouds.

10/12/12 - A sea watch from Palm Bay didn't produce too many species. 1 Red-Breasted Merganser W, 3 Great Crested Grebes on the sea, 2 Gannets E, a lot of Red-Throated Diver (I lost count), a few Fulmar flying along the cliff tops and quite a few auks, most being Guillemot and a couple of Razorbill.

9/12/12 - After football we managed to take trip to Dover after a Black-Throated Diver had been reported. We picked up Guillemot, Cormorant and Shag whilst searching for the Black-Throated Diver and then a few minutes later we picked it up in Granville Docks. A walk along the Prince of Wales pier produced Rock Pipit, Turnstone, Kittiwake, Black-Headed, Herring, Great Black-Backed and Lesser Black-Backed Gulls. A Mediterranean Gull was also picked out amongst the other gulls.

5/12/12 - A Short-Eared Owl from the garden!! Noticed by my Dad but also on the phone and needless to say the conversation started to stumble.
